  • Briggs Rd and Gun Lake Rd are the same road! (Name changes near intersection of M-179.)
  • The Long Lake Outdoor Center entrance is accessed through the parking lot of the Graves Hill Trail Head. Look for signage for either LLOC or Graves Hill Trail. Entrance is on North side of road.
  • Turn into Graves Hill Trail and continue through parking lot. Look for the Long Lake Outdoor Center Sign on Left – and follow the road through the gates until you reach the LLOC parking lot.

Housing & General Information

  • Check-In is from 5:00-6:45pm on Friday, and 8:30-10:00am on Saturday. Please go directly to the Welcome Table by the Lodge when you arrive. Saturday Check-in will be in the Dining Room.
  • Please arrive by 6:45pm for the Welcome Meeting, followed by dinner.
  • Food, beverages at meal times, lodging and activities are all included with registration.
  • An assortment of pop, chips and candy will be available for purchase for $1.
  • Attendees of legal age may BYOB Alcoholic Beverages. Please drink responsibly.
  • No Tents of any kind are allowed at LLOC, including small tents for kids, due to DNR Regulations.
  • Cabins have twin bunk beds and mattresses. Bring your own bedding/sleeping bag and pillow.
  • The Cabins have electricity, fans are allowed, but no A/C Units.
  • Showers/Bathrooms: There is a central Modern Shower House with private showers.
  • There are also outhouses located near the lake and hill cabins.
  • Dogs are allowed at the camp, but are NOT allowed in ANY camp buildings/cabins. Please use your judgement on whether it is best to bring your furry friend. Dogs must be on a 6’ Leash at all times. Bring a crate for them to sleep in on your cabin porch or plan to have them sleep in your car overnight.

What To Bring

Note: Please label your equipment so it can make it back home with you!

  • Bedding/sleeping bag and pillow
  • Clothes: remember we are in Michigan so bring your shorts, jacket and umbrella!
  • Swimwuit
  • Towels
  • Toiletries
  • Flashlights (one for each person)
  • Sunblock
  • Bug Spray
  • Camp/Lawn chairs
  • Water bottles and/or a cooler for drinks.
  • Hammocks and Straps
  • Waterguns
  • Recreational and sports equipment
  • Lawn Games
  • Hula Hoops, Poi, Juggling balls, etc.
  • Bicycles & Helmets
  • Musical instruments
  • Board & Card Games
  • Camera/film/batteries
  • First aid kit
  • Binoculars
  • Pen/notepad
  • Backpacks
  • Fan for cabin (if desired). Note: Air conditioners are not allowed in cabins.

Please bring these items to share with other attendees if you are willing:

  • Canoes/kayaks/paddles*
  • Life jackets
  • Fishing stuff (Fishing license is required for adults, but not for kids, per DNR)
  • Bikes/helmets
  • Soccerballs
  • Baseballs, bats, mitts
  • Nets
  • Juggling toys

*Long Lake is a No Wake lake. Motorized boating and Swimming is available at the Yankee Springs Recreation Area. A Michigan State Recreation Passport is required to enter or day passes can be purchased at the main entrance.

Volunteer Assignments:

We ask that each adult attendee, and students 12+, volunteer 1-2 hours at the retreat – this allows us to keep the retreat as affordable as possible. Make sure you specify your volunteer preferences when you Register. You’ll receive an email with your volunteer assignments. Thank you in advance for your help!

We ask that those who are able help clean-up at the end of the retreat. We appreciate your help – the more hands the lighter the load!
