Why It Was So Hard To See That God Is Not Good: Reflections Of An Ordained Minister Who Became Atheist

Jennifer Bixby has often been taken aback by other people’s surprise that someone who once held the religious conviction to become an ordained minister could ultimately adopt atheistic and naturalistic interpretations of the world. As a result she has decided to share the experiences, which hindered her, and the varieties of experience and literature, which led to her acceptance of reason as being superior to faith.

Jennifer will also lead a discussion regarding attitudes and methods of communications for productively interacting with people who hold theistic or supernatural worldviews.

Meetings are open to the Public

About Jennifer Bixby, M.Div

Jennifer Bixby is a former active duty Navy Chaplain with tours in Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory, and at the Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma, Arizona. Traveling the world and meeting a wide range of people from many faiths, Jennifer came to the conclusion that belief in the supernatural is irrational. She now works as an environmental engineer for the State of Michigan's Air Quality Program. She is the Events Coordinator and a Program Advisor for Mid Michigan Atheists and Humanists. Her personal interests include training for an Iron Man triathlon, making jewelry and, of course, reading science literature.
