Join us for a brief presentation and group discussion with Ed Brayton!

What are the proper limits on free speech? Blasphemy laws are easy—we’re all opposed to them. But what about Holocaust denial? Or anti-bullying rules in school? Or hate speech laws?

Ed Brayton will talk about some of the more difficult cases involving the limits of freedom of speech, both in the United States and around the world, and asking you to weigh in on those questions. Where exactly should the lines be drawn in situations that are not as simple as laws that make blasphemy illegal?

Meetings are open to the Public

After the meeting, join us at Vitale’s Restaurant, 834 Leonard NE, Grand Rapids, MI to socialize. View Map
