Center for Inquiry GRCC presents PZ Myers Science Education: Caught in the Middle of the War Between Science & Religion.

PZ Myer is going to come speak at Grand Rapids Community College about his experience with education in the science field. Myers will discuss his views on science and religion, creationism and intelligent design. Students will be encouraged to ask questions.

About PZ Myers, PhD

Associate Professor of Biology, University of Minnesota

Paul Zachary “PZ” Myers is a professor of biology at the University of Minnesota Morris. He is the author of the popular science blog Pharyngula (http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/). His blog has been honored as the “top-ranked blog written by a scientist” by Nature magazine. He is currently an associate professor of biology at UMM, works with zebrafish in the field of evolutionary developmental biology (evo-devo), and also cultivates an interest in cephalopods. Myers is a public critic of intelligent design and the creationist movement and is active in promoting and defending evolution.  In addition, Myers is an unabashed “godless liberal”, a vocal skeptic, questioning religion, superstition, spirituality and pseudoscience.
