Description:

We will review some of Dr. Shermer’s work on the eve of his visit. We will be reviewing his biography, synthesizing his works, and discussing his theories and ideas. Christian Orlic will do a brief presentation summarizing Dr. Shermer’s books and lead discussion about them.

Free parking is available in MSU Parking Ramp 6 after 6 pm.

Christian Orlic is a first year graduate student in the department of Zoology and EEBB (Ecology, Evolutionary, Behavioral Biology) at Michigan State University and as well as a graduate student in HSTM (History of Science and Medicine) at the University of Minnesota. Christian holds three bachelor degrees in: Zoology (BSc); History, Philosophy, Sociology of Science, Technology, the Environment and Medicine (BSc); Political Theory & Constitutional Democracy with a minor in Science Technology Public Policy (BA) from Michigan State University. Christian is interested in the history of biology and its ethical, moral, political, societal implications. Christian is also working on a project to distinguish the roles of adaptation, chance and history in evolutionary biology. Christian has served on the CFI MSU board since Fall 2008.
