Friday, January 11, 2019
Panera Bread (Portage)
5970 S. Westnedge Ave
Portage, MI 49002 United States
Café Inquiry is a casual event starting with a short 10-15 minute introduction of the day’s topic followed by open discussion. Have dinner if you like! Drinks, snacks and sandwiches are available for purchase.
This month, we will be discussing Identity Politics. Attendees are encouraged to read the article “Why Are Secular Humanists So Afraid Of Other People’s Identity Politics?” by Debbie Goddard from the Aug/Sep 2018 issue of Free Inquiry.
Members are welcome to propose and schedule a topic which would be of interest toward establishing a secular society based on science, reason, freedom of inquiry, and humanist values. Please contact us if you have a topic that you would like to discuss at an upcoming Café Inquiry.
Café Inquiry (Portage) meets on the Second Friday of each month.
To find the group, look for table signs with the Center for Inquiry Michigan logo. They will be near the front of the restaurant.
Food & Beverages are available for purchase.
Center for Inquiry Michigan values full participation for all attendees at all of our events, including participation from individuals with disabilities. Requests for reasonable accommodation may be made by contacting the event host at least three days prior to the event (contact information is below).
