Café Inquiry is a casual event starting with a short 10-15 minute introduction of the day’s topic followed by open discussion. At 12:00pm we will break for coffee/brunch and a chance to socialize.

This week’s topic is: Is Chemistry a Force for Good or Evil? Please join us to discuss the role chemistry and chemicals play in our world – for good and for not-so-good. The following links are for some articles that should be useful for background on the topic:

Is Chemistry A Force For Good Or Evil? by Peter Lantos from Skeptical Inquirer

Bad Reaction: The Toxicity Of Chemical-Free Claims by Sharon Hill from Skeptical Inquirer

A Chemical-Free Resolution by Deborah Blum from Wired

OMG – The Chemicalz by Steven Novella from Neurologica

Members are welcome to propose and schedule a topic which would be of interest toward establishing a secular society based on science, reason, freedom of inquiry, and humanist values. Please contact us if you have a topic that you would like to discuss at an upcoming Café Inquiry.
