Café Inquiry is a casual event starting with a short 10-15 minute introduction of the day’s topic followed by open discussion. At 12:00pm we will break for coffee/brunch and a chance to socialize.

This week’s topic will be: The Non-Modality of Nonduality.

Are Western cultures dispensing with a hierarchical godhead yet holding onto most of its godhead’s vestigial flotsam? In short…should the bathwater be thrown out along with the baby? Steve Andersen will touch on the philosophical notion of nonduality. He suggests it may not resonate with many of us. Nonduality can be both simultaneously disorienting and emancipating. We hope for some thoughtful, stimulating conversation. Attendees are encouraged to review the information below.

Members are welcome to propose and schedule a topic which would be of interest toward establishing a secular society based on science, reason, freedom of inquiry, and humanist values. Please contact us if you have a topic that you would like to discuss at an upcoming Café Inquiry.

Café Inquiry (Grand Rapids) meets on the second and fourth Sundays of each month.
