Description:

Café Inquiry is a casual event starting with a short 10-15 minute introduction of the day’s topic followed by open discussion. At 12:00pm we will break for coffee/brunch and a chance to socialize.

This meeting will continue our discussion of Transgender Issues as Erica, a CFI Member who is transgender, leads us on a history and cultural overview of transgender identity around the world and in the USA, and will lead a discussion of why this is such a heated and hated topic and will discuss current issues including proposed and current “bathroom” and  “locker room” legislation and the transgender military ban. Come ready to discuss your insights and opinions.

Members are welcome to propose and schedule a topic which would be of interest toward establishing a secular society based on science, reason, freedom of inquiry, and humanist values. Please contact us if you have a topic that you would like to discuss at an upcoming Café Inquiry.

Café Inquiry (Grand Rapids) meets on the second and fourth Sundays of each month.

To find the group go to studio located in the back right corner of the bookstore (not the café).

Food & Beverages are available for purchase.

CFI MI values the full participation for all attendees at our events, including individuals with disabilities, in accordance with our https://cfimichigan.org/culture-expectations-events/.
