Description:

Joel Welty’s ultimate plan was not only to build his own domicile into the side of a hill, covered over in earth, but to build a hundred others like it. There were many obstacles and challenges that beset him in this endeavor, however, so he is completing his own place for now. Welty learned through this process and his earlier managerial experience just what is wrong with the way conventional homes are built. He became frustrated with the unnecessary problems that he saw first hand. Essentially, conventional houses, he contends, are flimsy and wasteful.
